Supervision:
I supervised the research students (local and international), covering the area of psychology and education in general. Currently I have ten students under my supervision. I am responsible to supervise their research work in term of content and methodology. My students could employ either a quantitative or qualitative methods, or a combination of both methods in their research. I motivate and guide my students towards producing the highest quality thesis possible. I also encourage my students to produce quality papers either for conference presentations or to get them publish in refereed journals. I always emphasize on good disipline and commitment.
I had the experience of supervising the pre-service teachers who studied at the Education Faculty of UTM during their teaching practicum session. It is in our hand that the responsibility of shaping the students
to be a good and dedicated teacher. Thus, this has become part of my compulsory
responsibility to observe and supervise the trainee teachers during their
practicum in schools. Normally, each lecturer will be assigned 5 to 7 students
each semester. My responsibillity towards them includes:
1. to ensure that
the students follow all the regulations being set by the faculty and the
schools involved during their practicum period.
2. to observe the students, detect their major
problems and suggest relevant methods on improving their teaching capability.
3. to help the students who are facing problems with
their mentor teacher.
Other than the above, I have been assigned to become
academic advisor to undergraduate and postgraduate students.
